The Office of Campus Strategy and Readiness, within the Office of the Chief Operations Officer, leads development of campus master planning and the associated execution of a campus strategy. The Office also assesses readiness of buildings and related infrastructure in support of the Fermilab mission.

The campus strategy is guided by the principles codified in Fermilab Campus Master Plan and the scientific goals promulgated by the DOE's Office of Science High Energy Physics program. The Campus Strategy identifies projects over a ten-year planning horizon to meet the projected building and infrastructure requirements necessary to satisfy the Fermilab core capabilities and support functions, and may be updated as priorities change or requirements dictate.

An equally important function of this office is ensuring readiness of the laboratory's existing real property inventory. Day-to-day maintenance and operational activities for utility systems, roads, ponds, and natural resources are managed by the Facilities Engineering Services Section (FESS) while building readiness is the responsibility of each Division and Section as described by laboratory policy and the FESS core services.
